I am a Theatre Artist.

I thought that was pretty self-explanatory, until I came across a bunch of people who all, in the same evening, gave me blank slightly cross-eyed stares when I used this term.  So, here you go, for the uninitiated:  The term Theatre Artsist is used to describe someone, like me, who has multiple focuses.  It just seems pointless to list them all every time:  Educator, Director, Producor, Actress.

I Write.

For myself, for random readers, for unknown followers.  Someday, maybe, I’ll get published.  But probably not any time soon.

I take Photographs.

Of children and theatre.  Sometimes for free.  Because it’s fun and it’s for people I like.  Sometimes for money.  Because who doesn’t need a little green to get by on?

I am a Co-Parenting Single Mother.

To one precocious daughter.  She’s awesome.  She used to let me take pictures of her, not so much anymore.  Now she just bosses me around and then expects cuddles in return.  Some nerve.

I am Liberal.

In pretty much every sense of the word, except my money.

I am a Feminist.

And I’m not afraid to say it.  It is not a bad word, nor is it a bad identifier.

I am a New Englander.

Born and raised in CT, I went to Brandeis University for undergrad, lived in Somerville, MA for a while, moved to Chicago for a while but couldn’t stay away from good bagels, sea air, missing r’s, bad driving, and the smell of summer nights.  So, now I’m in New Hampshire.  I’d rather be one state further South, but wouldn’t you know it, the rent just gets cheaper and cheaper the further North you go.
